The State of Gujarat is committed to progress and development in the field of agriculture and horticulture. The state government is making a lot of efforts for the development of the sector in the near future.


With the emergence of irrigation facilities in the state, farming is being done in more than one season. Using irrigation and farm production technology, farmers in the state are cultivating a variety of high value horticultural crops.


Such crops produced in the state have increased employment, exports, value addition and processing opportunities in addition to the state's agricultural income.


There are non-fertile government lands in various districts of the state. This land can be allotted on long term lease to make it fertile and bring more land under horticulture and medicinal crops.


Increasing production in the state's agricultural sector can create more employment as well as increase the contribution of agriculture to the nation's GDP. The state has a lot of potential for cultivation of various horticultural and medicinal crops with proper harmonization of technology and use of modern micro-irrigation facilities. The non-fertile  fallow lands in the designated areas and survey numbers of non-fertile fallow fallow lands in the designated districts for the purpose of cultivating these crops to generate production and income, recreate employment, value crops and export. The government will lease the land to provide and encourage the cultivation and cultivation of all horticultural crops as well as vegetables, spices and medicinal crops.


The district level land selection committee headed by the Collector will prepare the selection list by identifying the block / survey number of the land eligible for allotment among the non-fertile government lands available in Kutch, Surendranagar, Patan, Sabarkantha and Banaskantha districts.

રાજ્યમાં ઉત્પાદિત આવા પાકોના કારણે રાજ્યની ખેતીની આવક ઉપરાંત રોજગારી, નિકાસ , મૂલ્યવર્ધન અને પ્રોસેસિંગની તકો વધી છે. 

રાજ્યમાં વિવિધ જિલ્લાઓમાં બિન ઉપજાઉ સરકારી પડતર જમીન આવેલી છે. આ જમીન લાંબાગાળાની લીઝ ઉપર ફાળવી ઉપજાઉ બનાવી બાગાયતી તથા ઔષધીય પાકોની ખેતી હેઠળ વધુ જમીન લાવી શકાય તેમ છે. 

રાજ્યના કૃષિક્ષેત્રે ઉત્પાદન વધારી વધુ રોજગારીનું સર્જન કરી શકાય તેમજ રાષ્ટ્રની GDP માં કૃષિક્ષેત્રનો ફાળો વધારી શકાય તેમ છે. રાજ્યમાં ટેક્નોલોજીના યોગ્ય સમન્વય અને આધુનિક સૂક્ષ્મ પિયત સુવિધાઓના ઉપયોગથી વિવિધ બાગાયતી અને ઔષધીય પાકોના વાવેતરની ઘણી શક્યતાઓ રહેલી છે. તેમાં આ પાકોનું વાવેતર કરી ઉત્પાદન અને આવક મેળવવા, રોજગારીનું નવસર્જન કરવા , પાકોના મૂલ્યવર્ધન અને નિકાસ કરવાના આશયથી નિયત કરેલા જિલ્લાઓમાં આવેલી બિન ઉપજાઉ સરકારી પડતર જમીન પૈકી નક્કી કરેલ વિસ્તારો અને સર્વે નંબરોની બિન ઉપજાઉ સરકારી પડતર જમીનને વિવિધ બાગાયતી તેમજ ઔષધીય પાકોના વાવેતર માટે લાંબાગાળાની લીઝ ઉપર આપવાની તથા તમામ બાગાયતી પાકો તેમજ શાકભાજી , મસાલા અને ઔષધીય પાકોની ખેતીનો વ્યાપ અને વાવેતર વધારવા તેમજ પ્રોત્સાહન આપવા માટે સરકાર જમીન લીઝ પર આપશે.
